The Wavestream Overboard Oil Protection System is designed to simply and economically remove oil contamination from the bilge water of boats. The filtered bilge water is discharged without creating environmental damage. The Wavestream System is simply installed between the bilge pump and the overboard through-hull-fitting, similar to installing a sea strainer. Used cartridges can be disposed of as normal oily waste like oily rags for bilge pads.

The filter cartridges in the Wavestream System are recognized for the excellence of their performance worldwide. The Wavestream inline filter removes both dissolved and dispersed hydrocarbons discharging clean water less than 5ppm from your boats bilge. The used cartridge retains 3 times its weight in oil. Once the cartridge is full of oil or fuel it will no longer collect oil and fuel and contaminated water will pass thru the filter. In a clean bilge, filter cartridges can easily last a season. Wavestream Filter systems can be used with conventional bilge socks and pads. Finally, you can add a convenient and environmentally sound option to cleaning bilge water. Wavestream Systems create a wall that water can pass, but oil can not.

The system is not a bilge cleaner but is considered by those who use it as cheap insurance that polishes bilge water before discharge overboard.
